No visit to Boston is complete without seeing the legendary Boston Symphony Orchestra, one of America’s most exciting and respected classical ensembles, led by Music Director Andris Nelsons. In springtime, the Boston Symphony transforms into the Boston Pops, performing everything from jazz to Broadway, light classical to rock, film music to big band in a festive atmosphere, complete with light food and drinks served at cabaret-style table seating. Both the “Pops” and “BSO” perform in historic Symphony Hall, a Boston landmark renowned for its perfect acoustics. In July and August the orchestra heads to Tanglewood, its magnificent summer home in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts. Framed by quaint villages and rolling green hills, Tanglewood is known throughout the world as one of the most magical places to hear great music.
